The John Howard Society of Newfoundland and Labrador is a community-based organization comprising of, and governed by, individuals whose goal is to understand and respond to crime and its consequences.
The John Howard Society is a voluntary, non-profit agency that provides counselling, residential, employment and related services to adult and youth ex-offenders.
The rehabilitation of offenders and safer communities through effective, just and humane responses to the causes and consequences of crime.
In furtherance of its Mission, the Society:
- provides direct service to individuals who have had conflict with the law or at risk for conflict
- provides public education on matters relating to the justice system
- promotes changes in the law and the administration of justice which will lead to a humane, just and effective treatment of individuals and safer communities.
