Reconnect Program

Reconnect is a new employment program offered by the John Howard Society of NL. Reconnect is a 26 week employment program that consists of two components; a group based employment skills learning component and a paid job placement subsidy component.

Eligibility

Reconnect is best suited for individuals who are actively looking for work. Priority will be given to referrals who self-identify as having a disability or who struggle with mental health.

Program Description

Participants enrolled in the Reconnect program will attend a 12 week employment readiness course at the Next Steps Office.

Upon successful completion of this course, the program facilitator will assist participants in finding a paid 12 week job subsidy placement in an area of interest.

Reconnect will be offered bi-annually, starting on January 15, 2024.

Referral

Referrals are accepted from individuals themselves, parole officers, probation officers, classification officers, social workers, counsellors and/or family members.   All participants are assessed through an intake interview process.
