Annual Family Prison Visit

Through financial support from Correctional Service of Canada and the coordinated efforts of the institutional staff, inmate committees, our staff and volunteers, the John Howard Society is able to provide transportation and accommodations for families of Newfoundland inmates serving sentences in Federal Institutions in the Maritimes.

Selected families from various locations in Newfoundland and Labrador will visit inmates in Atlantic, Springhill, Dorchester Medium, Dorchester Minimum (formerly Westmorland Institution) and the Nova Center for Women.

How you can help

The John Howard Society depends on public involvement. All levels of the organization – from local to national – are governed by voluntary Boards of Directors. Volunteers are extensively involved in the direct service work of the Society. Many also support the work of the John Howard Society through donations.
